Trade Show Booth Rentals To The Rescue
Not everyone has the kind of budget that allows total unlimited creative freedom.
But what if you are on a shoestring budget? Or trade shows are new to you? Or you’re in between rebranding? Or the show is small and all you need is a small, temporary footprint?
No fret. You can always rent.
What Are Your Trade Show Booth Needs? Ask These 5 Questions
Let’s think of it as a pro & con list. In the end, if you still need a custom booth, terrific. We will create a unique-to-your-brand booth while still staying within budget. If you need to rent, that’s fine too.
To see if you are better off buying a custom booth or renting, ask yourself a few pertinent questions:
Are you brand-ready to have a custom booth? Meaning, your messaging is dialed in, and you don’t plan on making any radical changes shortly soon. Or do you plan on changing themes depending on the trade show?
How many trade shows do you plan on attending annually?
Do you have shows that happen simultaneously?
Do you need flexibility when it comes to footprint?
Are you new to trade shows and simply want to test the waters?
A good rule of thumb, if you are going to buy a custom booth, is to amortize your costs at an average of two shows a year and expect the booth to still be in decent shape in 3-5 years.
Pros & Cons of Renting Your Trade Show Booth
Rental Pros:
No storage fees.
No wear and tear costs. When you own and something breaks, you’ll need to replace it.
You can increase your footprint without increasing your budget (too much) by renting two booths.
Sustainability. Waste is reduced by reusing parts over and over in a rental program.
Rental Cons:
Although we pour our love into our rental properties, renting a booth may not come in perfectly mint condition.
Renting furniture, plants, etc. for a rental booth can get costly.
Lack of availability. If it's show season it’s first come first served. Our large rental inventory may be in use by others at the same time so there are a bit more limitations when it comes to design.
Renting can get pricey over time.
Pros & Cons of Owning Your Trade Show Booth
Owning Pros:
If you attend a lot of shows, owning a booth will amortize quickly.
Control over the design, flow, branding, etc.
Add to it as you go.
You’re in control.
Ownership Cons:
Yes, it can get pricey, but again think amortization and ROI based on how many shows you attend.
Flexibility is a con, as well as a pro. Meaning that if market trends change, or you have a major rebrand, you’ll need to rethink your entire booth.
Changing the design can get costly but there are always creative ways to get around that.
You have to store it. You have to ship it. If there are damages or changes, it’s on you. We recommend storing it with Wise Owl to save on costs.
